Presented in the keeper’s house, the “Veilleurs du Fleuve” exhibition guides you through the captivating world of lighthouse keepers and pilots of the St. Lawrence, at the time when the pilot station was established in Pointe-au-Père.

Through stories, artifacts, models and testimonies, the exhibition transports you into the daily life of these unsung heroes responsible for ensuring the safety of sailors and ships on the river.

Look through The Window of Possibilities, an intimate part of the exhibition that invites you to discover the seasonal moods of the river, its stories and, above all, its language. The guards knew this language well: it guided their daily lives, their decisions. Even today, this communion with the river is within your reach.

A stone’s throw from the lighthouse, the Pointe-au-Père Maritime Historic Site presents the Empress of Ireland Museum as well as the Onondaga submarine.
