About
Built in 1833 for Jean-Charles Chapais, future Father of Canadian Confederation, Maison Chapais was intended at the time to be a family residence which also housed the first general store in Saint-Denis. Designated a national historic site and classified as a heritage building, Maison Chapais represents today a real heritage, architectural and historical interest.
Come and enjoy an astonishing experience during a guided tour of the house or its historic gardens which house a brand new interpretive trail, the Memory Garden. Attend new activities for the whole family and musical shows, Country Sundays. Craft products shop.
