Circuit patrimonial de L'isle-Verte
About
L’Isle-Verte ranks among the most beautiful heritage sites in Quebec. Its heritage circuit offers visitors 19 historic sites, three of which are classified as “historical monuments” by the government of Quebec and two are classified by the Canadian government as “national historic sites”. The Maison Louis-Bertrand and the Circuit Court have obtained this double recognition.
The starting point of the circuit is located at the Green River Park. Among the places to discover that will capture your interest, you will find in particular the old Spinning Mill, the Church of the Décollation-de-Saint-Jean-Baptiste, the Girard house, better known as the “Maison de la Faune” , the Louis-Bertrand House, the Circuit Court (former courthouse), the house of Robertine Barry, the first female journalist in Canada, the house of the poet Blanche Lamontagne, friend of Nelligan and the Narcisse-Bertrand house, which is the subject of several reports, among others at Canal Historia. The latter ranks among the most beautiful houses in Eastern Quebec.
