Municipalité Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs
About
La p’tite île, as it is called locally, is the only island inhabited all year round in Bas-Saint-Laurent. The heritage of a remarkable maritime landscape, the presence of wildlife and a jealously protected built heritage which stretches on both sides of the island path, from Bout-d’en-Bas at Bout-d’en Haut, form the decor of this island life. Green Island is accessible by ferry, the Peter Fraser, from May to November, according to a schedule depending on the tides.
In winter, it is accessed by the ice bridge. Between these two periods, access is by helicopter. The island has built a reputation for hospitality and has become an exceptional resource for tourism and vacationing by offering a few places to eat and around thirty tourist accommodation sites, including the famous and renowned Maisons du Phare site. .
Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs remains an open living environment that we visit and which can be a place chosen to live differently
