Laura Martin, she shares her crushes and discoveries with us for our greatest happiness!

The soft murmur of dead leaves crunching under the wheels… The comforting musky scent of the forest preparing for winter…

There’s no season more poetic than autumn, especially in the Bas-Saint-Laurent.

Cycling enthusiasts, hurry up and take to the colors before nature turns white!

Parc Beauséjour

Let’s not be fooled: the Parc Beauséjour is beautiful all year round. But in autumn, it’s simply blazing. Just two pedal strokes from downtown Rimouski, it offers 10 km of cycling trails along the shore of the Rimouski River.

For the more daredevil, some 30 mountain bike trails of varying degrees of difficulty also wind through the woods.

Parc de la Pointe

Every season has its own ritual at Rivière-du-Loup’s Parc de la Pointe! In summer, you buy yourself a soft-serve ice cream and drive around. In autumn, you hop on your bike and finish the ride with an espresso or hot chocolate.

The 5 km paved bike path offers a safe route for young families.

Le Petit Témis

With its rich and deep forests, the Témiscouata region is one of the best places to admire the yellow-orange spectacle that precedes the great annual leaf-thinning.

On the Petit Témis bike path that runs alongside Lake Témiscouata between Notre-Dame-du-Lac and Dégelis, you’ll feel as if you’re backstage at this fabulous magic trick performed by Mother Nature. (If you find her trick, let us know!)

On the Grande Anse trail

Fasten your helmet securely and put on your gloves! The autumn wind is sometimes raw on the Grande Anse bike path, between La Pocatière and Rivière-Ouelle.

It would be a shame to skip this section of the Route verte just to avoid messing up your hair… On the 15 kilometers that hug the St. Lawrence River, you’ll feel very small. But please, keep your eyes wide open!

On Île Verte

Spend a day on Île Verte and let yourself be transported by its calming and exotic charm.

Take the ferry – with your bike and lunch – and explore this oasis of tranquility before winter isolates it. You’ll discover an island even more magnificent than in books, with its glowing hues sublimating the landscape.

On the promenade de la Mer

For a final dose of salty air, before the river puts on its winter clothes, a ride on the Promenade de la Mer is a must.

This 4.3 km bike path, which separates the St. Lawrence from downtown Rimouski, is a classic for weekend family rides. Don’t forget your warm jacket!
