Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac: where summer makes sense

On the shores of Lake Témiscouata, time gently stretches out. Lulled by the lapping of the waves, Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac invites you to slow down, breathe in the pure morning air and listen to the sound of birds awakening under the first rays of daylight. Mornings are gentle, sunrises extraordinary, days bright and evenings unforgettable.
On the road to wide-open spaces
If you like to discover the world by bike, Le Petit Témis is a true ode to freedom. This 134 km bike path, laid out on an old railroad line, follows the lake along the 15 km of Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac shoreline, offering breathtaking panoramas. On two wheels, with the wind in your hair, every turn reveals a new scenery, a new invitation to contemplation.

From kayak to bike
In Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac, you can also travel by water. Gliding across Lake Témiscouata, the Corégone ferry sails towards Saint-Juste-du-Lac, transporting passengers in a vivid tableau of bluish reflections and verdant mountains.
You can even take your bike across the lake on the river shuttle to Lac Témiscouata National Park, which faces the town on the other side of the lake.

The waters of Lake Témiscouata hide a thousand secrets. Aboriginal peoples, explorers and navigators have passed through its waters.
Today, you can enjoy a variety of water sports or bask on one of the two municipal beaches, bathed in generous sunshine.

Discover part of the lake’s history with the Roadways exhibit at the PGR Recreation Center. It’s also the perfect place for a rainy day.
You can discover the landscapes of Lake Témiscouata with the 360-degree photographic murals, and children will be delighted to stretch their legs in the indoor water games.

re-enactment at Fort Ingall
Then there’s Fort Ingall, guardian of the past, transporting you back to 1839, to the era of conflicts between Canada and United States.
Between historical animations and military re-enactments, you’ll enter as if in a history book, and leave with shining eyes.

Taste summer, savour it to the full
Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac abounds in local flavors, tables where you can savor local products and little cafés where you can linger after a long day in the great outdoors. Whether you sleep under stars at a campsite, in the comfort of an inn or in a waterfront hotel, every awakening promises a new adventure.

From Rivière-du-Loup, on Highway 85, you’re just 30 minutes away from total bliss. Once there, you’ll understand why time seems to stand still. Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac isn’t a destination, it’s a promise.
