What to do this winter in Kamouraska?

Brïte Pauchet, happy to live in Kamouraska, where she can combine many of her passions and share them.

Are you afraid of getting bored this winter? Not if you visit Kamouraska.

Playing outdoors

Winter, snow and cold are coming. And with them, our winter pleasures.

Snowmobilers? Club Les Belles pistes du Rocher blanc in Saint-Bruno and Club Les loups in Sainte-Hélène welcome you as soon as snow conditions permit. You can warm up after your outing with a good frite or poutine.

These clubs also offer cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails, separate from the snowmobile trails. Skiers (Nordic skiers only) can also explore the bucolic Sentiers d’Ixworth and the beautiful loops of Boisé Beaupré in La Pocatière.

Many of our trails are also accessible in winter, including the Sentier des Cabourons in Saint-Germain, the Montagne du Collège in La Pocatière, the Sentier culturel in Mont-Carmel and the Sentier des Aboiteaux in Saint-André. While each of our municipalities has an outdoor skating rink, La Pocatière boasts a 0.8 km ice trail. Enough to stretch your legs.

For gourmets and gourmands

After a long walk, what better way to warm up than with a cup of coffee or a hearty soup at Au Cabouron, Maison de Jean-Baptiste or Chez Casgrain. Chez Casgrain is also offering a series of activities for the holiday season. A murder mystery game night, a pop-up from Marcelle’s thrift store, not to mention a literary evening and a vision board workshop.

But perhaps you’d prefer a few nibbles and a cold beer at Tête d’allumette. The sunsets are incomparable!

Hôtel Victoria Verre Amical will be offering a tasty Holiday Brunch the weekend before Christmas. Meat, fish, veggie. Sweet and savory. Traditional and inventive. A generous choice of dishes to share with friends.

For kids

The Musée québécois de l’agriculture et de l’alimentation is open from Wednesday to Sunday in December and during the holiday season. You can visit the permanent collections, as well as the exhibition Manger! L’expo qui nourrit. Younger visitors can take advantage of activities designed especially for them.

Looking for a more physical activity? Rebond, the multidisciplinary center, will welcome all those who have retained their childlike spirit over the holiday break. Before you go, it’s best to check the schedule, as it depends on the availability of volunteers.

New Year’s Eve

Two activities among many to welcome 2025 in style: the Grande Veillée du Réveillon de la Baleine endiablée in Rivière-Ouelle and the New Year’s Eve Party at the Hôtel Victoria in Saint-Pascal. Two very different atmospheres are to be expected.

Happy Holidays!
