We're off to the cottage!

Laura Martin, she shares her crushes and discoveries with us for our greatest happiness!

How can we reach a state of absolute relaxation at home, between an load of dainty clothes, meal planning and a floor that screams “Sweep me!”?

Let’s face it: it’s hard to switch off at home, when our to-do list follows us around every room like a shadow.

To get away from it all, we disappear to the chalet!

For stylish decor and a pantry

Au Vieux Loup de mer, Rimouski

Some fifteen hotel chalets, highlighting the warm character of typical Quebec homes. A sure bet for 20 years.

The little extra: a boutique selling local products, at the reception desk, for a wonderful apéros.

For rustic charm

Chalets du Domaine Valga, à Saint-Gabriel-de-Rimouski

Three log cabins on a 165-hectare resort estate. Many outdoor activities nearby, depending on the season.

Our favorite is Le Huard, built on two floors between the branches.

Feel at home

Chalets BSL, à Saint-Simon-de-Rimouski

Three modern, fully-equipped villas with spa, access to the river and hiking trails. A perfect retreat, where you’ll feel right at home… without the obligations!

The only danger: you might want to make an offer to buy…

For the ultimate experience

Chalet Laroche, à Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac

A huge house (40 feet by 60 feet), with an unusual urban design.

We love the billiard table and bearskin hide in the living room, and the 6 patio doors (!) offering a breathtaking view of the lake.

Personal contact with nature

Résidences de tourisme du parc national du Bic

Several cozy, recently-built cottages with a view of the breathtaking Bic landscape.

For outdoor enthusiasts, it’s like sleeping in a candy dish. Ideal for sparing yourself the inconvenience of winter camping.

For a sustainable escape

TERFA, à Saint-Narcisse-de-Rimouski

Cozy cottages, built in a wildlife reserve according to the highest principles of sustainable development and powered by solar energy and propane.

Sweet dreams are made here, despite the proximity of the terrifying Portes de l’Enfer canyon (which is closed for the winter).

For ancestral charm

Chalets Val Garnier, à Saint-Charles-Garnier

The middle of nowhere is here. Housed in a former general store and a small colonial house, these refuges are located in a mountain village of 200 souls.

A change of scenery is guaranteed at Chez Dorance and Chez Frid.

An opportunity to work

Gite E&M, Mont-Carmel

Running away is good, but it’s also a great way to get some work done in a relaxed setting.

In this two-storey condo, housed in a former inn, you can not only pick up the phone, but also work remotely, thanks to a high-speed Internet network and two height-adjustable desks.
