Every spring, Témiscouata is transformed into a paradise for maple syrup lovers. The region is one of the largest maple syrup producers in Quebec, with nearly 300 producers, some with over 200,000 taps!

Here are a few suggestions to sweeten your belly and make the most of sugaring-off season in the region…

Domaine Vallier Robert, maple economuseum specializing in alcoholic beverages

Domaine Vallier Robert in Auclair is the place to go to learn more about maple syrup production, with guided tours of the sugar shack and wine cellars.

Since 1992, Vallier Robert has been developing unique know-how! It collects maple sap and vinifies it into white acers, sparkling acers, and sweet acers aged for long periods in barrels. Their products regularly win awards!

Distillerie Témiscouata

Distillerie Témiscouata, also in Auclair, offers 3 different eaux-de-vie produced in collaboration with some 40 local maple syrup producers.

A white acerum, a brown acerum and a sweetgrass-flavored acerum are available at the boutique and also at the SAQ.

Domaine Vert Forêt

These two passionate people have created their dream farm in Auclair, and in addition to raising organic pigs, they offer maple products from their 8,000-tap maple grove.

They produce certified carbon-neutral maple syrup and also offer butter, taffy, brown sugar and nuggets.

Sleep at the sugar shack!

L’Érablière Dumais in Rivière-Bleue is more than just a sugar shack where you can buy a variety of maple products and take part in a “taffy party” – you can also spend the night!

On the upper floor, you’ll find 6 lovely rooms, each with a private bathroom and a shared kitchenette. A large room is also available for special occasions.

Un événement culinaire à ne pas manquer!

De l’érable à la table will be held for the 5th time from April 2 to 20, 2025.

A dozen Témiscouata restaurateurs have concocted maple-based dishes especially for this decadent event!

The hardest part is choosing the right restaurant, because every dish is so mouth-watering!

For those who want to discover the Bas-Saint-Laurent region from a different angle, there’s nothing like a visit to Témiscouata during this sweet season.
