AuQuéb, loyal collaborator who offers you her discoveries and crushes in Bas-Saint-Laurent.

In the mood for discovery on two wheels? Head for the Bas-Saint-Laurent! The region offers a veritable playground for adrenaline-fuelled adventurers. There’s something here for every taste, with perfectly groomed, mechanically-worked trails and even the old-school tracks we love.

Here are Au Québ’s recommendations for planning a successful outing on our trails this summer.

Les Sentiers du Portage, Notre-Dame-du-Portage

Scoop! A new practice site has just opened in Notre-Dame-de-Portage. And we think it’s one of the region’s must-sees!

For their first season of operation, Les Sentiers du Portage are offering 7 kilometers of well-designed, machine-worked singletrack, free of charge. A whole lot of fun!

Produced by Sentiers de l’Est in collaboration with Wolf Bike Park and Coastal Jibs, the first phase of the project includes climbing trails, a skills zone, four beginner-to-intermediate descents and two jump lines. Much more than just a well-designed course, the site offers a breathtaking view of the river!

With 50 hectares of municipal land available for infrastructure development over the next few years, this is a project we’ll be keeping a close eye on!

Sentiers du Mont-Comi, Saint-Donat

Particularly popular for its ski slopes in winter, Mont-Comi is a prime destination for mountain bikers once the snow has melted. The 24-kilometer network features 22 enduro and gravity trails ranging from beginner to expert (6 green, 6 blue, 8 black, 2 double black).

A particular highlight is the Soleil, a blue-level run that gave us a real thrill, with its naturally uneven terrain carefully enhanced by its designers.

Courageous bikers can enjoy a 300-meter vertical drop linked by a ski lift. With its varied trails, breathtaking scenery and friendly atmosphere, Mont-Comi is a must for outdoor enthusiasts.
