Spooky plans in Bas-Saint-Laurent
Rédaction
Laura Martin, she shares her crushes and discoveries with us for our greatest happiness!
You either love or hate Halloween. Some dislike the sight of rubber-headed monsters and the sound of voices from beyond the grave beneath a balcony. Fans are happy to throw themselves into the lion’s den.
A lot of activities are organized in the Bas-Saint-Laurent for those who like to dress up in costume and share their fears, once a year.
Ready to take the plunge? Bouh!
The whole package! 👻
When it comes to witches, La Pocatière knows what it’s all about. You could even say it’s the region’s goosebump capital.
Last year, 10,000 costumed people gathered on 4th Avenue. This year, we’re raising the (chocolate!) bar once again, with a four-day festival from October 23 to 26.
The program culminates on Saturday with a haunted house tour, a grand downtown parade and fireworks. A pumpkin contest, a horror film screening and a moonlit bowling night also promise plenty of fun under your wigs.
Screaming at the circus 🤡
For a second year, Cirque de la Pointe-Sèche is secretly preparing two big evenings of thrills on its dark site in Saint-Germain-de-Kamouraska, naturally conducive to startles.
On October 25, the evening will be family-friendly and harmless, with candy and acrobatic acts for mini-ghosts.
The next evening, on the other hand, get ready for a blood-curdling themed tour. The 18-and-over party ends on the dance floor, where you can socialize anonymously with zombies and fake Joker brothers.
A game of Clue in Rivière-du-Loup 🥸
The Forest of Mysteries, featuring strange characters on the leafy trails of Parc des Chutes, has become a classic for fine family thrills.
On October 26, in the mornings and afternoons, it will bring together little pandas in strollers, teens who still love lollipops and adults who never say no to a thrill.
When darkness falls, at 6:30 p.m., we’ll get down to the sordid business with the Disparition rally in Vieux Rivière-du-Loup. Organized by Espace Centre-Ville, this Clue-like hunt for the culprit will invite you to solve an investigation, starting in Parc Blais, but it’s already sold out…
The end of the world between two rows of corn 💀
Remember the maze scene in Stephen King’s The Shining? Yes, getting lost in a string of dead ends can give you a solid scare. The famous Grand Labyrinthe Kamouraska is hitting the bull’s-eye for its 10th anniversary by holding a Halloween activity between its rows of ears of corn.
Brilliantly entitled La POCalyspe, the activity will take place on October 26 in two formats. In the afternoon, little ones can chase monsters. In the evening, it’s the monsters’ turn to chase lost and frightened participants.
A little bird tells me that people with weak heart muscles should stay home.
Monsters ball 🧟♂️
Pohénégamook has already one of Quebec’s most famous monsters: Ponik. So it’s no surprise that the town wants to roll out the orange and black carpet for the entire colony of mysterious creatures.
On November 2, a week later than usual to prolong the horror, Le cirque monstrueux will bring together all manner of terrifying characters at Salle Léon-Desjardins.
The town is also expected to be transformed into a horror movie set, as residents are invited to enter a decorating contest.
Riki, scare me! 🧛♂️
Rimouski is not to be outdone when it comes to hair-raising fun. The Corporation des loisirs Saint-Robert will be staging its 2nd annual Mégaparcours de l’horreur in Parc Lepage on Saturday, October 26.
Judging by the poster – which we didn’t put up here! – you might find your vocal cords sore as you emerge from the tour.
Actors will try to make you scream in fright and skip a heartbeat with various tricks and sudden, unexpected movements. We know the trick. But why we still get caught anyway?
A course, sweeter than spicy, for ages 12 and under will also be set up on the same site.
