Admire the fall colors of Témiscouata!
Rédaction
Claudine Boucher, originally from Témiscouata, she loves nature, outdoor activities and good food.
You’ll be charmed by Témiscouata, with its breathtaking panoramas in every season, its generous nature and its many lakes, including Lake Témiscouata, the 2nd largest lake south of the St. Lawrence River, not to mention the famous Lake Pohénégamook and its legendary Ponik monster!
This autumn, spend a day or a weekend exploring the country roads in all 4 corners of the region to admire the trees in their most beautiful colors!
3 autumn activities in Témiscouata
Parc national du Lac-Témiscouata
Autumn is a particularly good time to hike the Chert Mountain trail, which will plunge you into the atmosphere of an old maple grove. It’s a 5.5 km intermediate loop.
A canoe or kayak trip can also be a great way to admire the fall colors. Bring along a picnic of our region’s tasty products: cheeses, breads and sweets, beers, maple-based spirits, a variety of takeaways, etc.
Domaine Vallier Robert
This bucolic site is in the heart of the municipality of Auclair, on the Monts Notre-Dame road. You’ll learn about the art of maple fermentation, explore the different stages and methods of production from maple sap to syrup and fine spirits, and finish with a commented tasting of the different products.
In the boutique, you can take home their award-winning products. Take the opportunity to hike the marked Maple Trail (2km).
Piste cyclable Le Petit Témis
It’s so nice to cycle in autumn, when the colors will be at their peak over the next few weeks! With less traffic than in summer, you’ll find it easy to take it easy on the shores of Lake Témiscouata between Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac (Cabano and Notre-Dame-du-Lac neighborhoods) and Dégelis, to the sound of the waves.
You can also enjoy a drink or a meal on a terrace!
