Marc Larouche, he shares with us his tourist discoveries of his adopted region with passion!
Art lovers and the curious are in for an immersive and unforgettable experience this summer at the Centre d’art de Kamouraska, nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of the same name. This unique exhibition space invites you to plunge into a vibrant creative universe through three exceptional exhibitions.
First, commemorate the 350th anniversary of the founding of the Seigneurie de Kamouraska with “Les roses imaginaires”, an original multimedia co-production that revisits Anne Hébert’s famous novel Kamouraska.
Let yourself be transported by an immersive audiovisual work using deepfake, where you’ll witness a mock performance of Anne Hébert reciting excerpts from her novel. A captivating literary and technological experience that will surprise and move you.
Then dive into the poetic, sensory universe Geneviève Baril, an artist from Maurice who explores the Kamouraska region with her immersive installation “Anthologie de la marche – la suite”.
Observe the transformation of plants and wild flowers gathered during her walks, assembled and woven into large white hanging frames. An invitation to slowness, observation and the awakening of olfactory memory in a suspended interior garden.
Take part in the work by helping to gather and assemble the frames, leaving your mark on these ephemeral, evolving creations.
Finally, discover the work of Montreal artist Patrick Bérubé, who presents an experimental investigation of mills and agriculture in Kamouraska with “Autre/Fois”.
Admire artworks in a variety of media, including a giant millstone on which the artist sculpts his inspirations. Explore the use of mycelium materials, a promising sustainable alternative to single-use plastics.
Be surprised by Patrick’s artistic explorations and the dialogue he establishes between art and Kamouraska’s agricultural heritage.
Extend your artistic experience by visiting the Centre d’art boutique, where you’ll find unique souvenirs and local handicrafts. Check out the Centre d’art’s calendar of events to make sure you don’t miss out on any summer activities, such as creative workshops, lectures, artist meetings and musical performances.
Don’t wait any longer and plan your visit to the Centre d’art de Kamouraska for an unforgettable artistic journey.
Open daily, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., from June 15 to September 2, 2024.
